An outcome is suggested to be clear and precise. You must see the runway to land an airplane.
When you travel, you must know your final destinations.
An NLP concept is the meaning of your communication is the response you get back. Are you communicating your outcomes based on the attitudes that you will have it?
Are you congruent with your goal? Congruent means that what you say matches what you do. Meaning are your actions and behaviors communicating the success and realization of that outcome?
Incongruence is like drawing a big scribble like this picture. Meaning all actions don’t match your outcomes.

“Don’t speak negatively about yourself, even as a joke. Your body doesn’t know the difference. Words are energy and cast spells, that’s why it’s called spelling. Change the way you speak about yourself and you can change your life. What you’re not changing, you’re also choosing.” Bruce Lee
If you use negative words and energy toward change, you only succeed in making your doubts and failure a reality.
You cannot subtract your way toward success.
Realize this NLP premise and put this in your heart:
People can change and we have all the resources to change. You control your beliefs and positive attitudes about you. You succeed because you take action. You accomplished your daily performance goals because you achieved them.
You can trust your unconscious mind to carry out the actions toward your goals.
Since 93% of our communication is nonverbal, it’s in your creativity and your imagination where success happens. Not the gossip or the stories of what you say or feel about it.
It’s about having strengths in how you say it and formatting your own suggestions in a more useful way is a more effective approach. So your mind can paint a more accurate picture of things you need to do to make your dream happen. So the roadmap of your dreams is in the context.
Let review the concept of content and context.
Content is based on details and specifics events or ideas. This is usually analysis.
Analysis is paralysis. Analysis is also a form of self judgment and you are just prosecuting your dreams.
For your unconscious mind to carry out the actions of a goal getter, you must work on your imagination and how you see it or the bigger picture. This is context.
To master your mind so that it’s fun chasing your outcomes, you must first know your desired outcome. Outcomes are based on your results and your actions of what you want.
Your results are based on how you see things happening first, hear second and feel last. If you feel your way toward achieving, you may not always feel like doing something useful towards your goals.
Visual
Visual words are important to use when defining clear outcomes. Here are some examples of visual words:
● an eyeful,
● beyond a shadow of a doubt,
● clear cut,
● eye to eye,
● make scene,
● mental picture
● pretty as a picture,
● tunnel vision,
● get the picture
● showing of
● mind’s eye
Auditory
Auditory words are used to express yourself. It is the use of words to describe a sound.
Here are some examples of auditory words:
● I’m hearing you,
● listen to,
● amplify,
● state your purpose,
● turn up the volume
Kinesthetic
Kinesthetic are words to describe a feeling or a mood. Here are some examples of kinesthetic words:
● get in touch,
● smooth operator,
● it feel right,
● powerful feeling,
● cool, calm, collected
● Slow down
Guidelines of An Outcome
(1) State Positively and in Present Tense
Avoid: but, however, I’m not sure, maybe, probably these words reflect the intention of doubt. When using these words, you are not making a single minded decision to succeed.
Useful Method: State your goals in a matter that you will have it. For example, I am a size 2 and weigh 130 lbs.
Avoid: stating what you want to get rid of. For example, I need to lose 30 lbs. Your unconscious mind assumes you are 30 lbs overweight.
(2) Notice what is useful for your outcome and focus on what you want! NOT what you are trying to get rid of.
Let’s start by answering these questions based on the instructions.
- What will you see when you have it?
- What specific painful or uncomfortable condition will be eliminated when you have it?
- What resources are needed?
- What will this outcome get for you or allow you to do?
